This paper discusses how alternative creative approaches to pre-production stages of creative media projects enhances the artistic performance. The essay will explore this by discussing performances, focusing on the concepts of mindset, skills, environment, improvisation and their applications comparing two peculiar performances. The first one is El Animal, the first long play record from the Chilean Folk/Post-Rock band Boraj released in 2019 produced by Arturo Zegers and his team. The second one is the famous American scary film ‘The Blair Witch Project’ created and directed by the former film students Daniel Myrick and Eduardo Sanchez released in 1999. These specific art pieces will be useful to analyze because of their special take on preparing the performer's mindsets and environment in order to get a more autenthic overall performance from the artists.
